Curriculum support service (ICT)

Basic curriculum service:  This service will be carried out in a flexible manner to suit the needs of the school, but should include the following:-

Annual curriculum audit

The consultant will visit the school to establish where in the curriculum for each year group elements of the Program of Study for ICT are being taught, and which elements are missing from the current teaching.

In order to carry out this work the consultant will require access to the long and medium term plans for all subjects in each year group, either as discrete subjects or as integrated topics. These plans should be at whatever level of planning is being used.

This would be delivered to the best extent reasonably possible in a half-day visit to the school.

Assistance with long & medium term planning

After completing the curriculum audit, the consultant will work with teachers and/or ICT coordinator to establish how the complete program of study for ICT can be delivered and produce outline plans for all elements that are not already planned.

This would be delivered to the best extent reasonably possible in a half-day visit to the school.

 Assessment

Having established where in the teaching of each year group there are elements of the program of study for ICT, the consultant will work with teachers and/or the ICT coordinator to establish the criteria for assessing the level at which each child is working.

Where it is helpful the consultant will work with teachers to show the practice of establishing the performance of individual children.

This would be delivered to the best extent reasonably possible in a ‘twilight session’ visit to the school.

Reporting to parents

Having completed the audit, planning and assessment of the curriculum for ICT, the consultant will assist the ICT coordinator to produce an appropriate format for reporting to parents in a manner that complies with regulation, and work with teachers to show how assessments of individual children can be used to produce reports.

This would be delivered to the best extent reasonably possible in a ‘twilight session’ visit to the school.
