The complete ICT support service for school

About tecwyn.net

tecwyn.net was founded in the spring of 2007 by Tecwyn Cockett

Tecwyn is a qualified teacher who taught in schools in London from 1974 to 1985. During this time he pioneered the use of 'computing' throughout the curriculum.

In the autumn of 1985 Tecwyn was appointed Advisory Teacher for ICT in the Northern Area of Suffolk.

As Advisory Teacher, Tecwyn was able to identify areas where there was a need for more appropriate software, particularly in Primary schools, and he produced many programs that are still in use 20 years after they were first written.

With the start of the National Grid for Learning project Tecwyn took a leading role in the organisation set up to deliver the NGfL resources to Suffolk schools - SLAMnet. For its first few years SLAMnet was a highly successful team that received incredibly good response in online surveys of customer satisfaction, but it was not a model that fitted with the new philosophies of local government.

When all of Suffolk's ICT services were subsumed into CSD (a joint venture with BT) it became increasing difficult for Tecwyn to deliver the service to schools that he so passionately believed in, so he handed in his resignation at the end of 2006.

In 'tecwyn.net' Tecwyn, and the technicians, will do whatever it takes to enable schools to utilise the power of ICT to implement imaginative learning environments for pupils.
